Commissions

It’s a challenge to work on commissions, finding a meeting place between the artistic imperative (the work must stand alone on its artistic merit) and the client’s perceptions of what they want in the finished piece. Often it’s a view of the landscape, or perhaps an aspect of the farm, or of a home in the context of its surrounds, or even a portrait. Whatever it might be, as long as there’s light and shade and subject appeal, commissions can be fun and satisfying to do.

Below are a few examples of some local commissions completed over the last couple of years.
